Last Sunday (so I suspect) I contracted a severe case of Poison Ivy while helping a family member with some yard work. I believe my dogs were carrying urushiol on their coats as they were running through the woods there which are infested with Ivy. The following Monday night I began to develop itchy spots on my forearms and legs.
By the end of the day Tuesday the rashes became more severe and I began to apply standard topical solutions to dry and cool the itch. By the end of the day Wednesday, the rashes became much worse. Wednesday night in an effort to learn more about Poison Ivy on the internet, I came across some information on your product and ordered a jar (Overnight Express).
On Thursday morning both of my forearms were swollen, extremely red, and the left lower forearm was developing severe blisters. Needless to say some of the urushiol must have entered my system. I went to the doctor and she prescribed some steroids to relieve the swelling.
I arrived home about 11:00 AM Thursday just in time to receive the Zanfel delivery. I immediately took it into the shower and went to work. I was very impressed with how quickly the paste relieved the itch! Upon exiting the shower my rashes did look like I'd gone over them with sand paper, but in just a couple of minutes the "sensation" caused by the particles in your product subsided and I felt very comfortable. I remained practically itch free from that shower until almost 11:00 PM! I used the product again prior to going to bed and slept quite soundly!
My swelling has subsided, and my rashes do look much better and I have only isolated itching patches which will get another dose of Zanfel today. I suspect that the urushiol has penetrated quite deeply in my case and that's why I still have small areas of irritation.
Overall though, I'm very impressed with your product! I found that rinsing the body with cold water after a the regular washing of the area provides quick relief to the slight sting the product generates due to vigorous scrubbing of the affected areas. I would not hesitate to recommend your product to any of my family or friends. The relief was so good, even with my severe case, that I was able to wear regular clothing that would normally irritate the rashes! Thank you very much!

Note: It is not necessary to scrub hard at all, as Paul did. No more than a minute is usually required and 15 to 30 seconds is usually sufficient to get the same results. |
